Lance Fitzsimmons

a.k.a. “The Hot Tub Wizard” in the USA, and now The Spa Pool Wizard Down Under.

Lance originally started with a small swimming pool service and repair business in 1984. After 4 years he was introduced to the commercial side of the business, where he quickly became familiar with chemical automation systems.

Over time Lance became an expert in commercial chemical automation, hydraulics, and filtration, and has consulted and worked for companies such as Ecolab, and Leslie’s Commercial.  

Lance then took this knowledge, obtained through education, implementation of chemical automation, field development and maintaining various types of facilities, and applied it to maintaining spa pools. His primary focus over the years has been “how to achieve excellent water quality”, and as a result he has had access to “mountains” of data logged by automation systems showing the effects of various water treatments.

Applying Knowledge to Spa Pools

Having learned from the data there are many cause and effect elements affecting water quality, usually caused by the very chemicals used to maintain them, he started sharing his knowledge with spa pool owners, helping them obtain significantly better results.  

Back in 2003, Lance started working with a good friend on miniaturising salt technology for hot tubs. It wasn’t until 2008 that they had a commercially viable system. It was also in 2008 when Lance got the nickname “The Hot Tub Wizard” after transforming hot tubs with salt. Since then, the salt system technology has continually improved and become easier for end users.

Today Lance operates a small facility in Idaho USA, that assembles and distributes the recently updated Scepter Salt Water Cell. This cell is plug compatible with popular premium salt water systems. In addition, a variation of the Scepter is also used in the new generation of standalone Complete Salt Water Systems being distributed by The Hot Tub Wizard, and in Australia and New Zealand by Spa Pool Wizard Down Under.

Lance has so far helped over 2,000 hot tub/spa pool owners to keep things simple by reducing costs, and eliminating the frustrations caused by traditional maintenance chemicals and methods, while increasing user enjoyment through eliminating the chlorine smells, minimising the risk of pool itch, the delivery of crystal clear water, and reduced spa pool water change cycles.
